A landscape photo where all is destroyed at Batad, Panay Island
Description
This is a photo of the town of Batad in Panay Island, the same island where I am. I have friends who have lost houses and are currently living inside a car. They told me that some of the roads have flooded and that they need to ride a banca (small boat) part of the way in order to leave town. The roads are still not passable and some of the areas suffer from lack of food and potable water.

Only half of the population of the University came to enroll for this semester. A lot of our friends are still trying to recover from this devastation. Many have lost homes. Many have been orphaned or buried a loved one.

There are various organizations which accept donations for the super typhoon victims: Philippine Red Cross, UNICEF, WPF to mention some. Tumblr also provided some links to organizational sites and where to find your loved ones if you have not yet heard news of them (see the Sun from the Philippine flag beside the logo of Tumblr).

Your help will save thousands of lives, keep the children from going hungry, clothe those who have lost their homes, support those who are trying to rebuild their refuge. We will always be grateful to you, from the bottom of our hearts.
